Mosaic Music Lessons Policies

TUITION

In-Studio Lessons

  • All new students will be emailed an invoice upon enrolling, which can be paid online.
  • Upon paying this initial invoice, you will be prompted to save your credit card information to be used for future billing. This option will be selected by the student. THIS IS A SECURE PROCESS!
  • Students will receive an emailed receipt for lessons on a monthly basis.
  • All payments will be processed on the 1st of the month. If the 1st falls on a weekend, payments will be processed the previous Friday.
  • Tuition MAY NOT be paid weekly.
  • PLEASE NOTE...SEPTEMBER TUITION WILL INCLUDE TUITION FOR THE LAST WEEK OF AUGUST! 



DISCONTINUING LESSONS:

  • YOU MUST PROVIDE 30 DAYS WRITTEN NOTICE IF YOU WISH TO DIS-ENROLL FROM THE STUDIO AT ANY TIME! YOU MAY PROVIDE THIS NOTICE IN THE FORM OF AN EMAIL TO JESSICA RORKE: JESSICA@MOSAICMUSICLESSONS.COM
  • THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR REMAINING LESSONS OWED
  • This policy does not apply to students in the Audition Prep Program.

​ATTENDANCE POLICIES ​ ​


Students and teachers are expected to be on time for lessons

  • If a student is late to a lesson, their lesson will still end at the regularly scheduled time.
  • Students should have all materials needed for their lessons. This includes an instrument, sheet music and books, assignment sheets, as well as any other materials as assigned by the teacher.


Planned Absences

  • This policy does not apply to students in the Audition Prep Program
  • A MAXIMUM OF FOUR PLANNED ABSENCES PER YEAR WILL BE PERMITTED. ("Year" is defined as the last week of August through May). This policy is meant to curb excessive absence, increase student productivity, and to honor the time slot reserved by your teacher. You may also try to reschedule a lesson to avoid using one of your four planned absences. 
    • The studio is closed for the following holidays, and a planned absence need not be requested: Christmas Eve, the week between Christmas and New Year's (as well as Christmas Day and New Year's Day), Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Black Friday.
  • Family vacations, sporting events, school plays, recitals, & similar activities fall into this category.
  • You WILL NOT be billed for these absences as long as you notify Jessica Rorke (jessica@mosaicmusiclessons.com) of the date of the planned absence by the 25th of the proceeding month. This allows her to send out correct invoices, and allows teachers to have their schedule set by the beginning of the month.
  • If you DO NOT notify Jessica Rorke of the planned absence by the 25th of the preceding month, you will be billed for this lesson. Your options are to try to make the lesson up DURING THE SAME MONTH, REQUEST TO use one of your THREE allocated lesson credits (by contacting Jessica Rorke), or pay for the lesson without making it up.
  • Example: It is October, and the student will be absent for their piano lesson on November 12th for a school concert. You would notify Jessica Rorke by October 25th that the student will be absent for their November 12th lesson.
  • You DO NOT need to notify the studio of planned absences on holidays when the studio is already closed.
  • PARTIAL YEAR PLANNED ABSENCES: Students who begin mid-year will have fewer allotted planned absences to use between the start of their enrollment and May 31st: 
    • Students beginning lessons after October 31st will be allotted 3 PLANNED ABSENCES
    • Students beginning lessons after December 31st will be allotted 2 PLANNED ABSENCES
    • Students beginning lessons after March 31st will be allotted 1 PLANNED ABSENCE


Lesson Credits

  • These policies do not apply to students in the Audition Prep Program.
  • Absence happens, things come up, and we understand that. We have a flexible policy that allows for you to make-up your lesson in the event that something comes up in your schedule that was not known about in the previous month.
  • A lesson credit MAY BE REQUESTED BY THE STUDENT TO JESSICA RORKE BY EMAIL when more than 24 hours notice has been given for an unplanned absence, and teacher and student were not able to find a make up time for the lesson. In this instance, the LESSON CREDIT is applied toward the next month of lessons ONCE REQUEST HAS BEEN APPROVED.
  • Each student will be allotted THREE LESSON CREDITS between September through June. Lesson credits may be used for illness or other unplanned absences that you were unable to inform us of by the 25th of the preceding month. We want to continue to be as flexible as possible for our clients, while at the same time, running a viable business.
  • PARTIAL YEAR ENROLLMENT LESSON CREDITS: Students who begin mid-year will have fewer lesson credits to use between the start of their enrollment and June 30th: 
    • Students beginning lessons after October 31st will be allotted 2 LESSON CREDITS
    • Students beginning lessons after December 31st will be allotted 1 LESSON CREDITS
    • Students beginning lessons after March 31st will be allotted 0 LESSON CREDITS
